Company founder
He was the first to get back into the air - and still refuses to be grounded, even today: Theodor Wüllenkemper's pilot's license was the first issued to any German by the Allies after the Second World War - and it's a document of historical significance for both aviation and WDL. Theodor Wüllenkemper followed up by founding his own aviation company at Essen/Mülheim airport in 1955.

Operations started with a single Tiger Moth biplane. Gradually, the enterprise expanded into a group of companies with three subsidiaries and a whole fleet of passenger and cargo aircraft serving destinations around the globe. Theodor Wüllenkemper still heads the group today, contributing his invaluable flying skills, technical know-how and business acumen.
